Good thing God has such a long and empirically documented history of personally jumping in to solve human problems... oh wait...

Stop using Climate Change deniers to rant against any religión....

There are people who call themselves Christian who are not Catholic.

I am one of them. But I am thankful for this Pope every day.

And grateful for his gift to our POTUS. Too bad Trump didn't read it.

True. Climate change denial is primarily rooted in white evangelical Protestantism. Catholics by and large accept climate change as they do evolution. White evangelical Protestants deny both.

These stories are interesting because they highlight confirmation bias. If you're a Christian and read it, it actually makes sense. God has a plan for the world, and so all we can do is do our best on a micro level and not worry too much about the net results of our collective actions on the macro scale, because God ultimately will determine what will happen on the macro scale - we already know how it's going to end, in the apocalypse and return of Christ.

But if you come from a secular viewpoint and believe Christian conservatives are stupid, clueless, and backwards, the story simply reinforces this viewpoint.

Nobody really even attempts to understand the views of those across the aisle anymore.

This kind of stuff is why I can't take the GOP seriously.

And believe me, a strong majority of them believe this.
