No just pointing out the obvious; any immigration "reform" that is an outright or concealed attempt to restore the USA to a "white man's country" is bound to fail. The USA simply has changed that much since 1965 and that includes the electorate.

The vast, diverse and growing Latino-Hispanic population for a start is not going to sit by and allow any immigration reform to pass easily that restricts things like family reunification and or puts into place any sort of point/quota system.

Proof of how much heavy lifting would be required is that even with GOP controlling three branches of government they've not released any sort of immigration reform plan, nor seem very eager to stir those old pools.

According to you we should bring just back slavery then since we need people to exploit.

Easy fix for that problem is to expand the guest farm worker programs. But who wouldn't like that? The DNC and liberals because the unions won't wear it; this out of worries about dilution of the power of farm worker/agricultural unions if vast numbers of workers were allowed to simply come into the USA legally, then go back and forth to their homes elsewhere.

I don't think we even need that. Many of those guest workers won't return to mexico. Who is picking the fruit and vegetables in europe? They don't have mexicans to do it for them and seem to get along just fine.

Oh, Hispanics won't allow it? Are they special? There is no reform on the table only amnesty and it would mostly effect them. It is self-serving and arrogant. They've had more than their fair share of the immigration pie and we need to get back to diversifying those numbers. Our demographics may have changed some but we certainly have the right to stop any foreign ethnic or national group from becoming the majority in this country via "immigration".

How can we expand the guest farm worker program when it's already unlimited?

Program is far from "unlimited".

No, it isn't. There is no annual cap on visas for H-2A workers.

Again, you need to do some research.

Demographic changes in the USA are not just solely result of immigration. Rather a good share is the simple fact that whites females are having fewer children and have done so for the past several decades.

Yes, immigration from Europe did matter, but not only did those families often bring the pack of kids with them, many married and had huge families as well. That simply is no longer the case on average.

White population in the USA thus is being hit from two sides; declining birth rates and less immigration from Europe or elsewhere.

Meanwhile back at the ranch a good part of recent growth in Latino-Hispanic population of USA is due to birthrates, and not immigration as in crossing boarder illegally. As pointed out in another post up-thread Latinos along with Asians and a few other minority groups are making good use of the family reunification provisions of immigration code.

In any event it stands to reason if the GOP or anyone else could get away with a more European focused (or at least less Latino-Hispanic or whatever minority) immigration plan they would have done so already. His Orangeness is busy picking off the low hanging fruit (rounding up "illegals"), but that won't solve the larger problem.

As the baby boom generation moves into their final decades of life there will go in large part the white majority of the USA. The generations coming up behind them are the one's who will be shaping and creating laws for this country.

His Orangeness? No point in debating with people like you. This isn't about race anyway. It's about retaining our identifying culture and language and not losing it thru too much legal and illegal immigration from groups that do not share our culture and language and them pro-creating on our soil without assimilating and passing this mindset on to their children.
