Maybe not but 8 police officers in London firing 50 shots in a few seconds did a pretty decent job of destroying a few jihadists.

After that, people can have all the memorials, candles and concerts they want.

I realize we are stuck in the Middle East now, and we have to address ISIS because they are evil. But we shouldn't be there at all. As terrible as Saddam was in many respects, he at least he helped keep that region mostly stable. Help return that area to stability. Stop treating all Muslims as potential terrorists (you know, assume, like anyone, that they are just normal people - use your intelligence information when possible to specifically address threats as they come about, regardless of religion or background).

Please stop calling them ISIS as if they were a legitimate state.

Call them DAESCH which is an insult in arabic.

Keep the islam out of it. They are dogs, just as daesch sounds in arabic.

The only way is to not amalgame.

And words do count, something your president might need to learn fast.

So what should people do then?

Hide in their homes?
Close all of their businesses?

Interesting that you mention WWII in this context. I recall reading many, many, many accounts of people who refused to give in to the fear of being invaded or bombed by going on with their daily lives.
It was the ultimate act of defiance - to still go to church or to school or to the dance hall.

Are you suggesting that those people were wrong to try to uphold their spirits under such horrible conditions?

Would you have had them, and those living today, simply roll over?
Or are you advocating for a more violent response?

Vigils and concerts? No, you have to aim for hearts and minds.

What if instead of getting involved in other nation's wars, our military would set up and protect refugee camps.

One of the proudest moments I've ever had as an American was watching a video of a sergeant on the runway in Haiti. With a clipboard and a couple phones, he was landing one plane after another, every three minutes around the clock.

Other nations sent soldiers. I was impressed by a group in red jackets marching in snappy formation.

But I was blown away by the we-got-this attitude of the American soldiers.

Show that to the world.
Exactly!

But it is the hardest thing to do. Keep heads straight, live on, dont fear.

Act as you want the world to go on. Dont offer bigger opportunities to recruitement.

Fight, fight but with intelligence.

Sorry, but I find even having the nerve to suggest such a thing cynical! The victims need to be remembered and those left behind need to feel cared about.

To equivocate having vigils and concerts to raise money to assist the victim's as some sort of countering the evilness/ideology of aberrant Muslim's terrorizing is a silly notion!

UK has a long history of dealing with terrorist Ideologue throughout history, and only the cynical call fault on those who chose to support the victims??????????

I'm actually offended by such a notion being spewed by any website, who, within a 48 hour window of this Concert suspect > as to their agenda

you know nothing of fighting terrorism. I lived with it directly for 20 years, and can tell you straight up. Bullets can contain it, can limit it and can even push it back for a while. But every terrorist you kill breeds 5 more. every stray bullet that kills an innocent kid breeds a hundred.

the way to beat it is the same one that has beaten it for centuries. Give them jobs, opportunity and a stake in the future. Well employed men with wives and kids don't fight wars they don't have to. How could you really not understand this after 15 years of failure ref our current wars?? As to WWII NOPE. you don't get to rewrite history. at the time Americans did NOT want to fight the war, the US gov had to use propaganda to get them on side. So your argument fails a basic sniff.

Exactly. This is the British stiff upper lip mentality at work. Keep Faith and Carry On!
