When this is brought up, the right says polls aren't accurate. If that is true (it's not, but let's pretend), that means there's a significant number of people who are embarrassed to admit to pollsters that they like Trump. That says a lot.
Trump's approval rating has been surprisingly resilient. It's hovered in the same range since the spring, when the big topic was the firing of Jim Comey. It's leaked a few percentage points but for the most part, Trump isn't losing many nor is he gaining any supporters. I really wonder what it's going to take to send his approval rating down into the 20s, where George W. Bush was before he left office.
What is quite amazing is that after the two wars, the great recession and everything else - GW still had 26%.
So we can consider that the very lowest possible ever for anyone. Or, put another way, 25% of Americans are authoritarians (this includes the "Christians", who will vote for a rapist over a liberal). It's not hard to tack on a few points here and there to get from 26% up to 33% (today Trump approval)....
Take Fauz watchers, Hannity listeners, etc...and you easily get a percent or two.
Scary. Really. The only hope for our country is for more people to vote - because every pol and pollster in the country does agree on one thing. If everyone voted we'd never have a Trump.
If his ratings are low he must be doing a good job. People pleasers almost never succeed. To be a success you need to lead. Trump is a leader.
Lead by example?
So can we legalizepuzzy grabbing and fraudulent universities...and stiffing contractors, etc.?
Should we all take his example of getting ahead by belittling EVERYONE we come into contact with?
You don't know squat about leadership. It sounds like you either were paddled (fear based leadership) or taken in by fundamentalist religion (same thing).
Let me try one or two on you.
IKE won WWII. He was a General. He was a Great Leader, one of the best in history.
He was POTUS for two terms. Do you think people liked him?
(Hint "I like IKE" was his campaign slogan).
Do you think people liked Teddy Roosevelt? Of course, they LOVED him and he was a great leader.
Trump is going to go down among the worst in History. The only question remaining is whether he will be in the bottom 10% or bottom 20%.
Trump is a fraud, a liar and a con man. He is perhaps the most despicable human being in public service today - and that is saying a LOT.
I think back to the NYTimes and AP polls for the probability Trump being elected as President in November 2016.
