It must depend on the region of the country you are in. In the southern Plains states like Oklahoma, not going to church and voting for a Democrat is considered an act of treason.
Again, completely wrong. I have relatives in Oklahoma.
Someone like Jim Webb or Bill Clinton circa 1996 would have won this election against Trump easily. Even Bernie Sanders could have won this election against Trump. Instead of looking to themselves, many liberals would rather blame white rural voters for being ignorant to "their own interests" for their loss.
The Democratic candidate would not have won rural America, but they could have siphoned enough votes in rural & semi-rural areas in rust belt states to change the electoral vote outcome. The DNC ran Hillary Clinton instead, who was a known quantity and a very polarizing figure. Rural America was not going to give the Dems several supreme court picks, even if they had to elect Trump to prevent that.
Keep bashing rural people, that'll make them vote for you. The liberals that do this are no better than the conservatives that are always complaining about "inner-city freeloaders" voting for "free stuff".
Barring some 2008-like economic crash that makes everyone realize how F up the Republicans are, Rural America will always stay to the right. All this talk about, "Oh, you Dems gotta pander to Middle America!" It's all complete BS! Rural America will always vote rural America. You can bend down on your knees and pull a Trump-to-Putin, but you ain't getting their votes.

I know the difference between reliable news sources and partisan drivel specifically designed to be consumed by idiots who don't seek the truth, only ideological reinforcement. It's the journalistic equivalent of the propaganda Moonies used to try to pass out at airports.
Legitimate reporters don't resort to using pseudonyms. They put skin in the game by reporting under their own name and risking their own reputations. If they are unwilling to do that, anything that they report has to be questioned by anyone looking for the unvarnished truth.
