there was a time when the leader of the free world was looked upto world wide. Think of Lincoln's speeches or FDR for instance; it's disheartening for some to see the current White House occupant speak on world matters in the manner of an uneducated, semi-literate individual.

Translation isn't done word for word, you translate ideas or messages. When the person speaking isn't conveying a clear message, it's difficult to translate the message into another language.

Not surprising. As a native speaker, I find it difficult to figure out what exactly he's rambling on about. His statements generally have no logical flow. His sentences often lack basic structure.

He basically talks as if he's reading a series of bumper stickers in no particular order.
