"I have never seen in my lifetime or in modern political history any presidential candidate trying to discredit the elections or the election process before votes have even taken place."

"It's unprecedented. It happens to be based on no facts. Every expert, regardless of political party, regardless of ideology, conservative or liberal, who has ever examined these issues in a serious way will tell you that instances of significant voter fraud are not to be found ... There is no serious person out there who would suggest somehow that you could even rig America's elections, in part because they are so decentralized. And the numbers of votes involved. There is no evidence that that has happened in the past, or that there are instances in which that will happen this time."

President Obama To Donald Trump: 'Stop Whining' : NPR

So, liberals, was Barack wrong? Of course the election was not "rigged," but your new argument now that the NSA leaker has been charged is that she exposed real useful information. So, why did you believe Barack? Why did you argue on his behalf when Trump was considered to be "whining?" Should you admit to your gullibility and hypocrisy, or should we Trump voters expose you instead?

Deflect what? That you believed Barack Obama when he castigated Trump, when in fact the NSA knew of the alleged hackings taking place on software systems?

Why are you so gullible?

Two things: we have no evidence that Russia succeeded in changing vote totals, but we do have evidence that they tried. If they tried and failed, it means that Obama was right. Secondly, if he was wrong, that bodes worse for Trump than Obama. People can be wrong. Adults accept that.

Russia was not successful in rigging vote counts.. if they were, HRC would have lost the popular vote. I am sure the Russians may have unsuccessfully tried. Its the US job to prevent such cyber attacks. We hack other countries as well. We try to influence other countries elections.

Didn't we all feel that way. Aren't we all surprised that the Russians interfered?

Conservatives everywhere screamed Russian interference was fake news.

Nobody wins. What a silly post.

It looks like you backed them into a corner OP and there is no way out.
You were very generous, to your credit, and used the word gullible when others would have used stupid.
Most likely the left will avoid this thread or try to have it both ways which is a sure loser.
Obama lied so many times on so many things its possible he told the truth when he thought he was lying.

Even if the Russians rigged the election there is no problem for Trump until there is evidence he was in on it. After a year of looking no one has found any evidence of that. It will never be found if it isn't there. They will still be looking as President Trump finishes his second term.

You just acknowledged that Obama was wrong, and then tried to cover his steps as if he should not have known that his own NSA has detected Russian meddling with election software. Even as he stood before the people and declared that Trump was wrong for insinuating that our election systems can in fact be tampered with? Are you really this intellectually dishonest?

Fake news? That's revisionist history. You are confusing and conflating pre- and post-election rhetoric. It was Barack Obama who was defending our systems saying they are not vulnerable. Why would conservatives argue that he's wrong and that Russia could cause Trump to win? You are very confused.
