Bloomberg gave a nice Fake News account but I prefer accuracy

Kansas unemployment rate is low due in part to the huge amount of people that are fleeing the state. Instead of searching for work in Kansas with its decimated economy, residents are moving to other states with healthy economies and functional state governments.

Any way you spin it, Brownback's fantasy land supply side tax cuts have been a disaster. The sad thing is that it was completely predictable, at no time has the GOP dreamland scenario of tax cuts leading to economic booms actually happened.

It's not flourishing, if they have a $350M budget deficit with low unemployment that should tell you they have a problem. The deficit is expected to exceed $1B in 2019 if they don't take any action, that is the bottom line. You can cherry pick any statistics you want but they have no easy way of balancing the budget unless they increase taxes.

Cali's weather attracts all ages. The great economic engines of California were established when Republicans ran the state. You elected an actor to run the state who doesn't speak English, what did you expect? I'm happy Cali is doing much better but I have relatives there so I know all is not peaches and cream.

It's almost like Republicans consistently elect truly abysmal people to run the government.

Living just outside Kansas, I can tell you that many of those employed in Kansas are working for minimum wage. And minimum is lower in Kansas than in California.

No matter how many times Republican economic strategies are put in place they inevitably fail. Why voters keep electing these people to ruin their lives is beyond me. I have a feeling, though, that people are going to start figuring out that they've been lied to by right wing propaganda and come to their senses.

If his fiscal plan was so sound why is there a $350M deficit.

Yet along comes his tax plan and the first stop is education funding to make up his ill conceived tax reform. I am not familiar with the Kansas State Constitution, do residents have a right to a proper education.
The Kansas courts ruled that they have a right to education and after they did, Brownback tried to get rid of the judges.

You do realize this website has all kinds of neat statistics by county, city etc. that you could use to make intelligent, factually supported claims with?

Yes, even if the theory was sound the pace of implementation was doomed to fail because you can't attract business that fast. They also blundered on other aspects but I think we can just call it one big blunder and be in agreement.

Also please note that KS can't just go deep into debt to prop up their failed initiatives and had to face the music right away (which is a good thing). Take a long hard look around the country at the states drowning in accrued debt.
