Interesting things? You start topic saying that you understand things that others don't. Honest discussion doesn't work that way.

I see a thinly veiled attempt to say that Trump should be impeached.

Trump won't be impeached.

How do you know he won't be impeached? You don't just like I don't know he will.

Everybody just needs to wait to see how things unfold. All this crap needs to end for the betterment of the country.

Impeachment requires "High crimes and misdemeanors". And looking at it you think, hey misdemeanors are crimes! And you are right. but...what EXACTLY are high crimes? Most people assume its all about felonies, or the big ones like treason, etc. But when written "high crimes and misdemeanors" had a much different understanding. Its a "term of art" like other phrases such as "due process", and "levying war". The supreme court has ruled that things like this need to be interpreted as the understanding at the time they were written.

Benjamin Franklin supported impeachment as Reading through documentation of the times on the topic, its quite clear that impeachment could be for entirely subjective reasons. Violations of public trusts for example.

James Madison successfully argued that an election every four years did not provide enough of a check on a president who was incapacitated or abusing the power of the office. He contended that some wanted maladministration during the discussion of the constitution, but most felt that would open up too much "he disagreed with me, s lets impeach" basically. The convention in the end adopted "high crimes and misdemeanors" as it was a commonly used term as the English parliament used it. Officials accused of it had done mavy varied things-some which were crimes, and many which were not.

Hamilton defined it this way in Federalist No. 65:
The Avalon Project : Federalist No 65
So the argument that it requires a criminal offense.....doesn't hold water in my opinion.
The idea of a banana republic were there are constant attempts at impeachment due to the POTUS being the wrong party seems awesome to some of you.

well, its instructive that democrats tell us what impeachment should be about because it is clear felonious behavior is not on the democrat list of reasons to remove from office.

for instance perjury is not a high crime or misdemeanor

not really, because the public would turn on the Democrats because of a witch hunt politics.....remember they are doing this because they are the minority and their tactic is whine like little children and scream that the sky is falling because of Trump, once they are the majority they act differently and they don't want to lower the bar on impeachment because whatever they do when they are the majority its call a precedent and it will be done to next Democrat Presidents.

They could have impeach Clinton, Obama, LBJ, FDR, and Bush if you are going to lower the bar on impeachment. We would be a nation of impeachments and nobody would run for office and whoever gets there will be taken out quickly for anything.

Why would anybody want Trump impeached? Yes, he's a *%#¥ing idiot who is a national embarrassment BUT, he will not succeed with any of his agenda. Put Pence in as president, we've got real problems. Sit back and enjoy the show. It will be over in 4 years.

Go read some of the topics on this in the federalist papers, or the far easier to read reviews of them.

That's why maladministration wasnt used. They have to fail in their public duty. By for example being corrupt as heck like trump has shown. Something that DOES make us look like a banana republic as his golf outings funnel money into him.
