There is no Sharia law anywhere in the West. Muslims leave the Middle East to get away from Sharia law, obviously
You would think so but it's not so obvious. You see, they didn't flee Islam. They fled something else, like bombs, hangings or just high bread prices. They did not flee because the daughter takes half the inheritance of the boys, or that they would go to jail if they ate in public in Ramadan. It won't be long before in the name of "reasonable religious accommodation" those customs are allowed. If you want to look into the future, look at the school districts with Muslim majority students and see how much Islam has entered the school.
I oppose both Sharia law and the idiotic Islamophobic bigots inventing a crisis where there is none. Seriously, this is a make believe problem invented by far right websites like Brietbart. Sharia law HAS NO LEGAL STANDING anywhere in the West. It DOES NOT invalidate any established legal system. It exists within narrow legal confines like an American Indian tribal court or the local legal system in American Samoa, in neither case is the established Federal law superseded.
Sorry, but you've already gone to far saying even that.
The foundation of the American Indian tribal court system is explicit in the US Constitution itself--they are given separate nation status (and their tribal laws are only effective on their national reservations). America Samoa, as well, was its own state before being made a US territory through war, and as well, Puerto Rico, also by war.
Those people were all originally their own cultures in their own traditional homelands, and they are just being recognized as having been their own cultures in their own traditional homelands.
Sharia law should not by any means exist anywhere in the US in that same manner--noplace in the US was ever a Muslim homeland. That's the sneaky crevice you're trying to worm it into.
