Well, to be honest, it makes Steve Bannon very happy. Don't hear much about him, but he's there....front and center. Just hiding in the shadows

You know I would have thought he would listen more to Ivanka than Bannon.

Me too. But that hasen't seemed to be the case. He went with Bannon over Ivanka and Kushner on the Paris accords deal.
He seems more of a pure user and not so much family except for image. Kinda like "I need you to hold my hand for the camera shot"................."**** you"

As in most all other matters the monarch (and royal family) follow advice of the government. Meeting foreign heads of state regardless of personal feelings is part of the monarch's (and royal family for that matter) job if you will.

Maybe the spoiled Queen Victoria would have kicked and otherwise refused to meet someone she didn't fancy, but then again maybe not. At the ball for her Diamond Jubilee attended by royalty from all over the world one of Victoria's German relations refused to escort the "black" Queen of Hawaii into dinner. HM directed one of her own sons (or was it grandsons?) to do the honor instead.

All this being said if HM truly detested and didn't wish to meet His Orangeness and the Missus, she might have "warned" about the feeling among her people regarding the unpopular POTUS. That is the sovereign's right. However since her first days on the throne Elizabeth II has dedicated herself to service, thus it would be her duty to see DT, and HM has never refused to do her duty.

On the other side of things the PM couldn't possibly have seen how badly things would be going for DT even now several months after assuming the presidency. Nor could Teresa May have foretold how badly things would be going for herself and government at this time as well.

Common feeling both from the PM and DT people likely was that even though the latter was off to a bad start, things would soon settle down. Thus reason for the first delay of DT's visit. Fast forward to now with two terrorist attacks in London, DT's administration and his own initial response, piled onto the already hot coals of hate towards the American POTUS, there really isn't any way for a state visit to go forward.
She's an old lady, she can just claim illness, she's already not expected to fulfil all her normal duties. I suspect an unfortunately timed cold to coincide with any Trump visit.

Prince William is taking over some roles, and will be riding at Trooping the Colour this Saturday.

The global nature of the Earth it makes no sense to isolate your country from the rest of the world
TRump has now alienated the US from any positive opinions from the people and governments of
Germany
France
Britain
Australia
Mexico
Canada
Im not seeing the logic of his bull in a china shop way of running the country,or how it will contribute to making America great, IMO America will be less great as countries start to avoid doing business with the USA.

If she's replaced, it will be for someone openly hostile to Trump. As a German, I can tell you that Western Europe HATES Trump. He has like 5% approval ratings.

In Germany Merkel was at risk of losing the upcoming election, then she started bashing Trump and her popularity soared. Trump is basically radioactive outside the rural or poor parts of the U.S.
I second that. Let him come to France, we LOVE a good demonstration and have hundreds of years of experience in doing so, it would be fun

Yes but it's partly a strategy. The USA is by far the most powerful country on the planet and all of those countries need our support militarily and/or economically for trade. They don't have to like Trump, they just have to respect his power.

You can dust those old guillotines down and give them an oiling while you are at it.
