Federal laws controlling pharmaceuticals, etc., need to be revoked for states to assert their Constitutional Rights on the issue of marijuana. Obama, Pelosi, and Reid CHOSE to NOT do so.

What are you not understanding about that?

If the best defense you have is that the Obama administration failed to keep the current Republican one from doing something stupid and evil, wouldn't it be much easier if the current administration - the one you tirelessly support - simply abstained from doing it? I think you guys like to call yourselves the party of personal responsibility, but somehow Sessions has to be forcefully kept from making this mistake?

No blame can be attached to him, because the previous administration failed to childproof his office?

This is Session's decision. Do stop pretending he's merely a victim of circumstance.

I'm sure the FDA has input, but it is the DEA's call as to whether marijuana remains on Schedule 1.

No, there is nothing a state can do if the feds decide to prosecute a particular person/entity under federal law
Exactly.

It's like you're trapped on a repeat loop.

Why hasn't the current admin, which has the Presidency, the House, the Senate, and now SCOTUS chosen to not decriminalize?

There would be no so-called "crusade" if Obama, Pelosi, and Reid had decriminalized marijuana at the federal level. They CHOSE to NOT do so.

What do you not understand about political realities? Good God, they were unable to pass simple measures to keep crazy people from acquiring firearms without being accused of leading the country to ruin. How far would they have gotten with weed decriminalization? As I said upthread, it would have been a pointless hill to die on particularly when states by in large were driving the cart and all they had to do was get out of the way.
