Kinda like the Repubs, and now we know they are just as big if not bigger Liars. States Rights my arse, the right only uses that to placate the Rubes.
Federal laws controlling pharmaceuticals, etc., need to be revoked for states to assert their Constitutional Rights on the issue of marijuana. Obama, Pelosi, and Reid CHOSE to NOT do so.
no, because Leftists just aren't bright enough to understand what actually happened and is going on. If the shoe fits, lace it up baby. OBAMA and HOLDER are the ones who created this mess and on purpose. If they were genuinely sincere they would have decriminalized it at the fed level but they weren't sincere. They were trolling for votes only. They had no intentions of actually letting states legalize it.
If the best defense you have is that the Obama administration failed to keep the current Republican one from doing something stupid and evil, wouldn't it be much easier if the current administration - the one you tirelessly support - simply abstained from doing it? I think you guys like to call yourselves the party of personal responsibility, but somehow Sessions has to be forcefully kept from making this mistake?
No blame can be attached to him, because the previous administration failed to childproof his office?
This is Session's decision. Do stop pretending he's merely a victim of circumstance.
Good post except the FDA does have jurisdiction with regards to where marijuana falls on the drug schedule classification. If the FDA reclassified, many dominoes would fall.
I'm sure the FDA has input, but it is the DEA's call as to whether marijuana remains on Schedule 1.
"The DEA is the lead agency for domestic enforcement of the Controlled Substances Act, sharing concurrent jurisdiction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security, and the U.S. Border Patrol." Note - no mention of the FDA. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug_E...Administration
No, there is nothing a state can do if the feds decide to prosecute a particular person/entity under federal law
Not to worry, Sessions days as AG are numbered, that is what happens when you tie you future to someone doomed to go down as one of the worst President in US history and of-course Lie like a pig in mud.
Never happen but keep convincing yourself it will if it makes you feel better.
Presidency, House, Senate. Dems had that in 2009. They CHOSE to NOT decriminalize marijuana at the federal level.
What are you not understanding about that?
What do you not understand about political realities? Good God, they were unable to pass simple measures to keep crazy people from acquiring firearms without being accused of leading the country to ruin. How far would they have gotten with weed decriminalization? As I said upthread, it would have been a pointless hill to die on particularly when states by in large were driving the cart and all they had to do was get out of the way.
Why hasn't the current admin, which has the Presidency, the House, the Senate, and now SCOTUS chosen to not decriminalize?
