How would you read that into what I wrote?

I was pointing to the fact that civilians with guns, in this case, did not stop this crime. Police officers with training and skill did.

Funny how it's always just a "mentally ill" person when it's someone from the right who is the shooter but look at all the hatred and vitriol merely based on the supposition that this was someone on the left. Are you so sure it wasn't some gun worshipper who didn't care who he was shooting?

I'll wait for an identification from a credible source.

The Senate was not going to vote healthcare today.

The Congressman shot this morning is the House Whip and has nothing to do with the Senate vote.

Just a sign of the times.

With all the nasty political discourse on here, why should anyone be surprised?

Our elected officials should be free to practice for a charity ballgame without fear of being shot.

Anyone who cannot see how wrong this is and not inject politics into it needs to take a long, hard look at what they really care about.

People are more important that politics.

I agree with all you say.

But WE should be free to go to a movie or a nightclub without fear of being shot. But we are not.

Again, America is a violent country and politicians are not immune.

Neither are we safe when we go out.

All media reporting shooter identified as James Hodgkinson, age 66, of Illinois.

Earlier confusion because he carried multiple IDs.
