And that song just proves the point, that the gun by its self does nothing. There is a person most often filled with rage pulling the trigger. But a person none the less pulling the trigger.
The world has changed incredibly fast, fast enough that maybe the original right to bear arms may need adjusting because life has passed it by.

I have to give them credit on this one. An lone, overweight, elderly man armed with a knife or baseball bat, running around a baseball field trying to attack Congresspeople probably young enough to be his children? Laughable, but put a gun in his hand and it is deadly.

10,000,000 more guns in the US EVERY SINGLE YEAR and violent crime has been dropping for 30 years. And you say more guns are not the solution. Clearly they aren't the problem liberals dream they are.

Why do you want to own a gun? Just because I want one and it is my right? Not good enough. Establish a NEED, as many state do have on the books.
It certainly should be interesting to see the NRA response to this. I also read that this man was an out of state resident, meaning he had to take his guns across state lines, which NRA thinks should be legal across state lines. Do you favor that also? Carry permits universal across the country?

This reminds me of arguments I occasionally hear from a crime victim when an offender has been arrested and they are demanding something about them and they have to be told, "Ma'am, he has rights." and their response is,
"WELL, WHAT ABOUT MY RIGHTS?".
I would love to be able to respond with, "Which rights are you referring to, Ma'am?" but of course, I can't say that, it would be a PR nightmare.
Hence for those who are saying, "Well, what about my rights?" I would suggest you refer to your Constitutions, state and federal, to figure out just what rights you are talking about.
That doesn't surprise me. When we had that attempted break in, my husband called the NYPD after. I pushed out our upper story metal window fan crashing to the ground by the burglar, while my husband was getting his gun, and the burglar ran away. My husband told the NYPD that he had a gun and was ready to use it. The cops told him that if that ever happened again, he had better be prepared to shoot him dead because, "Dead Men tell no tales".
The cops laughed at what I did. Quick thinking and reflexes. "Imagine HER with a gun". NYPD. ROLF
Anyway, we compromised on the 2nd Amendment rights. He gets to keep his guns, but they are locked up, kept away from me. I certainly have to the right to not know how to use or shoot a gun in my own household under the Constitution? I think so.
