Going from many of the comments I've read on CD, it appears a lot of members hang out with unsavory and/or violent people, so I expect this number to skew high.
If you live in really violent liberal cities like Chicago, you're most certainly going to answer yes.

A coworker was robbed just outside his bank on a Friday afternoon. He did not resist at all, they had his wallet but shot him in the stomach anyway. Occurred in a nieghborhood that everyone considered quite safe.
I personally have been robbed twice at gunpoint ( Years ago I was a bill collector on the Hill District of Pittsburgh, Pa.........a bad area) Also, my next door neighbor shot and killed his wife with a 30.30 and then killed himself.
Just want to poll members who post to P&OC about your personal experiences with gun violence.
When I was in my early twenties, I was a lead cashier at Pantry Pride and two gunmen came over the Plexiglas into the cage with me and demanded money. One had a revolver and the other had a sawed-off double-barreled shotgun.
I swept all the money from the tills into their bags and pressed the under-counter emergency button while I did so. Then they demanded the safe be opened. I calmly called for a manager, and saw his face in the window of the Produce door, and knew he wasn't coming out. So I suggested they take the rolls of coins. I bagged up all the rolled quarters we had and then they left via the cage door.
All those coins slowed them down and they were caught out in the parking lot.
A friend was driving through East LA when a bullet passed through his car window. He was not hurt. This was about 40 years ago.
My neighbor owned a jewelry store, armed robbers came in made him lie on the floor and told him they were going to kill him. They never fired any shots and left after the robbery. He was never the same after that.
Also my aunt (in her mid 70s at the time) stopped a mugger near downtown LA because she carried a gun. Probably was not legal. This also was about 40 years ago.
