Bogus... I know the trucking industry. If you made 110 thousand , that is nothing for an owner operator. They have to pay for their truck with a large payment, for insurance, for tolls , for fuel, for repairs, for highway tax. They wind up with much less. Pus the cost of living on the road. Food, showers, truck wash $40, $700 to fill the fuel tank , 5 miles per gallon average. 110 thousand is nothing when the costs are this high. One truck tire $800 . One blow out your profit is gone.
110 grand adjusted for inflation in 2017, and they aren't talking about owner ops. They're talking about employees.

Unless the truck drivers are willing to walk off the job en mass, why should I care? I suspect the reason they are not willing to do so is because there is a line out the door of people willing to take their jobs...probably a lot of immigrants.
The single mother working as a waitress because so many of the manufacturing jobs have been offshored are anything but lazy.

It isn't easy being a single mother. It wasn't meant to be . Divorce is hated by God and having children out of wedlock does not create a good launching pad to success.

What is a "Port Trucker?" Layman's terms. I don't speak the "union" language, so this article made no sense to me. Why should they be paid anymore than any other trucker (if that's what the article was saying)?
