Yeah, get the government out of capitalism, and everything will work out for everyone, huh?

Retail giants enable trucker exploitation - Desert Sun
From your own article that you didn't read:

Retail giants enable trucker exploitation - Desert Sun
"In 2008, California sparked the labor problems at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach by banning older trucks from entering the harbor.

Companies suddenly faced the prospect of replacing 16,000 aging big rigs with newer, cleaner trucks.

To avoid the $2.5 billion price tag, the port trucking industry launched a lease-to-own program that pushed the cost onto truckers, most of them independent contractors who had to cover their own expenses. Trucking companies arranged to finance their fleet, then passed on the cost of each truck to an individual driver."

No, money is NOT the "root of all evil." And Jesus did NOT condemn the rich and praise the poor.

The bible says the love of money is the root of evil.

Where did Jesus condemn the rich and praise the poor? He said, "Blessed are the poor (in spirit) for they shall inherit the earth. He wasn't talking about economics.

When he said it was "hard for a rich man" to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, he was referring to a person who loves his possessions more than God.

Well...they had a solution for that back in the USSR...how'd that work out?... Kim Jong-un is the Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea ... now there is another great solution for that evil capitalism.

Oh, please! Republicans? I can think of a lot of very rich Democrats! Nancy Pelosi comes to mind, just to name ONE. There are probably more rich Democrats than there are rich Republicans.

This is the kind of garbage you people put out that resulted in Trump beating Hillary last November.

California wants trucks operating within the state to have DEF/DPF systems for cleaner emissions. There isn't a damn thing wrong with that. Those older trucks were nasty as hell, and many weren't safe.

The problem is the damn lease to own program, which is a ripoff. Plus, retailers aren't paying drivers for layovers and delays.

These guys need to be employees, not lease operators. Lease operators can't make enough money to pay for those lease payments, and the shippers/receivers are the cause of that because they're doing everything they can to keep a cheap truck driving force on the port. That way, they can stuff the profits in the execs pockets.

You may have read the link, but you sure as hell didn't understand it.

Ahhh yes that evil capitalism. Things were so much better back in the USSR...how'd that work out? Kim Jong-un is the Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea... now that country has a bunch of happy worker let me tell you. Let us not forget the booming economy in the Peoples Republic of Cuba...they don't much cotton to capitalism there either.

Yeah, because there's no middle ground between Soviet styled communism and capitalist exploitation.

You're a real genius, you know that?

What is "wage theft?" How can someone "steal" someone else's wages? Please explain.
trucker goes to the ports to get containers off the ships and deliver them.
