No, we don't need to have better relationships with an enemy that just committed a major attack against us.

We will never have good relations with Russia as long as they're a dictatorship bent on destroying us and the West. Stop living in that fantasy world.

From the article:
Quote:
The Senate overwhelmingly passed legislation imposting new sanctions on Russia on Thursday with a 98-2 vote. The legislation also gives Congress the ability to block Trump from easing sanctions without Congressional approval.
Despite overwhelming support from the entire Senate, Trump is not going to sign a bill that will weaken his powers to do anything.
Especially where it relates to his adopted homeland.

Why? Russia is a corrupt despot with no respect for the sovereignty of its neighbors. They don't believe in human rights, they don't believe in free press, they recognize Hamas and Hezbollah as legitimate political organizations. Why should the US bow down to a dictator that spent his entire career finding ways to subvert Western democracy?

Because Trump has the hots for Eastern European women?
Because Trump had sex with underaged Russian girls?
Because Trump had sex with underaged Russian boys?
Because Trump has business entanglements with the Russian mob?

Take your pick. Putin has some kind of power over Trump. We just don't know for sure what it is. One thing seems to be the case - Trump is not working for America but instead for Putin. Whatever it is, it will come out eventually.

Like us, Russia has the ability to destroy the planet with their nukes, if for no other reason, that's a reason to seek good relations. I worked in Moscow for a year and yes they've got their problems but so do we...why not seek to obtain mutually agreeable relations. I don't understand this desire to reenact the Cold War...we may not be so lucky next time.

Maybe I was right a year ago. Maybe Trump really is a secret agent working for the Democrats, with the intent to sink the Republican Ship in deep water?

Here's the deal.

Any money the Kremlin makes off of us is used to oppress the Russian people, and invade other countries.

Where are the U.S interests in that?

In the face of overwhelming forces, Russians are are trying to stand up to Putin's corruption. IMO, we should stand with these Russian people, not the Putin and his oligarch buddies.

If there was ever a nation in need of regime change, Russia would be it. Easing off on the sanctions would only empower Putin.

As worldly as you claim to be, I'm surprised you support Putin's efforts to undermine our elections, invade other nations, and oppress the Russian people.
