Fact is, everyone in Washington does this, and definitely Trump does. He wants to see the reaction before doing it, or he wants to use it as a threat, hoping to influence certain people.
Of course Trump said this. If he did not, there would have been statements out of the WH and on Twitter denying it. Nothing, though.
Trump even denys things that he has told his staff to officially put out, so we can be fairly certain if Trump's 'buddy' was making up stuff about Trump, we would have heard so from Trump. ...

I suspect we will see more of these. Trump might even call these in using an alias as he has done in the past.
On a totally unrelated matter to the pace of such revelations, Mueller team now includes an expert in witness flipping.
Well since trump cannot fire Mueller directly he would have to fire Rosenstein and get someone in as debuty AG that would end the investigations, the Point of wanting them gone. If he did, he would be removed from office by Congress. So Trump and his Trumplings are going to have to sit back and wait for the results and deal with whatever is found. Enjoy the show

Might be interesting to watch The Pentagon and top brass and Congress resist such an attempt by Trump(Miller).
Might even speed up impeachment, when Congress finally can no longer turn a blind eye, they can skip obstruction and proceed straight to "unfit to serve".

Trumps' good friend Christopher Ruddy of Newsmax claimed that Trump is considering firing Mueller. Trump's lawyer Sekulow fed this narrative by saying Trump had not ruled out firing Mueller. The recent attacks on Mueller and the investigation by Trump partisans appeared to set the stage for this possibility.
This thread should have ground to a halt right here. The entire premise is a house of cards.
There remains no evidence whatsoever that Trump ever suggested firing Mueller (and Rosenstein), never talked about doing it, never even considered it.
The Fake News media keeps screaming and screaming, though, about how horrible it will be if Trump fired Mueller, or whatever the made-up scandal of the week is today.
With zero proof or even evidence. Trump could have spent the last six months in church doing nothing but counting his rosary beads, and the media would still be screaming about him firing Mueller.
There also remains "no evidence whatsoever" that the media is culpable for what Trump's buddy "leaked", as you presented. They just reported what a close friend of Trump actually said. You do know what the media's job is, right? To report things?
I guess in this scenario the "Fake News (your caps)" media is Newsmax, a deeply conservative source.
The media also reports everything that Trump claims "With zero proof or even evidence". It is what they do. Report things.

I use the C-D ignore function when I recognize that I've seen "butthurt" more than three times from one poster. Thus, I am unaware when the switch occurred.
Anyway, back to the topic, it seems that both Trump's buddy and Trump's lawyer are the ones spreading around the rumor that he was considering firing Mueller.

Sadly I'm not sure even trump firing Mueller would spur the sycophants in congress to do their jobs. Everyone was full of praise for him until he started really staffing up with serious prosecutors.
