A friend of mine since the 90s is a member of another prominent Bay Area political family. She has known Nancy Pelosi her entire life, and even she can't stand her.

I will apologize as that is not what I meant to do but it did come off that way. I simply meant to use your post to make my point. Money does NOT win the election. We have now seen this over and over. Hillary spent far more than Trump but we always get these excuses........but, but, but.

Of course elections can be effected by the expenditure of money. Ask poor old Goldwater about little girls with flowers.
It was the message.

If you run a modern Congressional campaign in any remotely competitive district and spend no money you will lose. Will a huge expenditure guarantee a wina? No.
Don't misquote me.......I never said you could spend no money and win.

But the availabilty of funding is a factor and at present favors corporate interests. We just had a local election where the local newspaper owned by a billionaire provide the drive to elect an idiot but highly conservative candidate to the LV city council. Only good thing about the candidate is she has a good body and can pose with an AR15 in a bikini.
Again, the message. Pretty women have been able to sway people for a very long time. LV has long taken advantage of that.

Under Obama the exact opposite happened.

Republicans are only out to protect the 1 percent. Let's see the secretive health care plan where it's only white men republicans negotiating it. It will hurt everyone but the rich. But keep voting for them since you seem to be part of the 1 percent.
The "rich" made out very well with Obamacare also. The insurance industry is swimming in profits because of it while the middle class can hardly afford to use it.

As of late, the (D)'s only claim to be for all of this but their actual actions do the opposite. You aren't going to get people to continue to vote for this just because the (R)'s do it also.

Provide a valid alternative or continue to lose.

Cheering for the man-child Trump? The man has an ego problem to need constant reassurance. Keep believing that the Republicans have your best interest, when they cut many of you out of benefits. Good Luck!

You were not misquoted. And calling people you disagree with a liar, doesn't make for real discussion.

And as far as money is concerned and raised by the candidates I stand by what I said. Ossoff received a huge amount of money from out of state and it backfired on him as that in itself became an issue in the campaign, as that money was tied to Nancy Pelosi.

Yes he got more money than Handel but no place near as one sided as you falsely show.

Add the Superpac money to him too and you add another 30 million, bringing his total to 53 million.

WoW!

After this election debacle, and maybe Democrats read my topic here , there are strong considerations for replacing Nancy Pelosi. As the stunning losses in GA06 & SC05 prove, Peolosi is a huge liability in the very places that Democrats need to be winning elections.
The high expectations that Pelosi set for Tuesday’s special election in Georgia may prove to be her undoing. Early in the week, with Jon Ossoff expected to win, Pelosi let it be known that she expected to take back the Speaker’s gavel after 2018. But Republican Karen Handel surged to victory, partly by tying her opponent to Pelosi.

I did the sums for you above. The totals were about 50 million split roughly 3 to 2 for Ossoff.

And again your post lies. You can of course post lies but expect to be called on it when you do

the actual Total was 50 million spit 3 to 2 for Ossoff.

And no one called you a liar though some might think that likely if you post something you know to be false. I give you the benefit of a doubt presuming that you have done some mental gymnastic that lets you convert falsehood to truth in your mind.

These are not remote rural districts. GA 06 is a suburban district of Atlanta, and SC 05 is a suburban district of Charlotte. They are full of well off sunbelt transplants that both parties need to win elections.

In both cases the Democrat party was tied to Nancy Pelosi and her policies and the rest is history. She has become the "face" of the Democrat Party. And the party continues to lose bigly across the nation in places where they need to be winning in the future.

Its not Nancy Pelosi's job to win elections.

Her job is to be a legislative leader.

its Tom Perez's job to win elections.
