Two Chinese supercomputers and an upgraded supercomputer in Switzerland rank ahead of the U.S. in a biannual list of top supercomputers released Monday by the TOP500 organization, which tracks supercomputer speeds.
But it wasn’t all bad news for the U.S.
The U.S. has five of the top 10 supercomputers on the list, the most of any other country. Additionally, the U.S. has 169 supercomputers in the top 500, followed by China with 160.

And who created/invented the supercomputer? Hint: it was not China or the Swiss..

So, does that mean the Chinese will now be engineering their own supercomputers instead of reverse engineering ours?
What does it matter which country is faster, as long as they all are trying. The world is global now.

Good one. I sometimes wonder if there's anything the chinese can engineer on their own. Engineering is not their strong suit, manufacturing is, and copying everyone's hard work to make a quick dollar, all the way down to trying to clone PCGS coin holders and pawn off counterfeit coins. They can do this because they have a "weak" currency that lets them go quite far cloning stuff and selling it for what amounts to "cheap" prices in countries with strong currencies.
Not to conservatives. It's all about the good old days, back before women, blacks, and hispanics got so uppity.
And now Asians apparently. This topic was sure to bring out the salty tears of bitter white men. Just good old fashioned racism. Nobody complained when other European countries "reverse engineered" the light bulb, the telegraph, etc. That's now how human progress ever worked in the history of humanity. That's the attitude of a plebian who knows deep down his country is in long term decline and is angry about it later that he's no longer #1. Not that it matters anyway, because those types of people never personally invented anything of their own. Jealous of other's success
