Normal, sane, people with a functioning brain don't care about Russia at all. And I live in DC.

The witchhunt is boring now. It's actually hurting the DNC more than it's helping. Normal people don't care because the only thing Russian that people care about is vodka.

Spare us the semantics. Trump voters do care about the country -- that's why we voted against crooked, corrupt Hillary Clinton who offered.... MORE OF THE SAME..... and worse

That's your opinion, and you're entitled to it.

You're one of about 320 million Americans, each with their own opinion.

I blame Obama for not exposing it further. Yes, the chattering class was talking about it - but we did NOT know that there was an active FBI investigation.

We should have been made aware.

But Obama was too worried about the 'optics" that he would be seen as trying to influence the election.

Please read the "Newsweek" article cited a few posts ago. It makes very clear that the Russian objective, directed by Vladimir Putin personally, was not so much aimed at defeating one candidate or the other as it was to weaken our electoral system and by so doing, weaken our country.

The Russian effort was directed at undermining the candidate whom they (correctly) perceived as their strongest opponent, the one most likely to be a strong leader who would preserve our democratic system, especially in international relations.

So Russian support was given to the other candidate, whom they again correctly perceived as the weaker character, most vulnerable to influence and perhaps corruption and blackmail, who was already surrounding himself with individuals with questionable ties to Russia. Russian intelligence and leadership would have known about those ties long before they were publicly known in this country.

Folks, this is not about Hillary vs Donald. It's not about Democrats vs Republicans.

It's about an effort to weaken our country and strengthen Putin's Russia (or more accurately, Russia's Putin) through very insidious, illegal and underhanded means. It's about the actions of our country's chief enemy, directed at our system of government. Donald Trump was perceived as a useful tool in this effort, which is why the Russians did their best (worst, actually) to put him in office.

When Trump became of aware of this, just how aware he was and is, and how much influence the Russian government/Putin retains over him - and the source(s) of that influence - remain unclear, as does the possibility of Trump's direct involvement and the direct involvement of the many individuals close to him whose Russian connections have surfaced since the election.

But all these things need to be uncovered and made publicly known - and addressed - for the sake of our nation and our democracy.

Roll on, investigation. Those wheels may turn exceedingly slow, but may they grind exceedingly fine.

If you ask the average American on the street, they find the notion that Russia somehow "forced" them to vote for Trump on election night as laughable. I bet most don't even know what "obstruction of justice" is, or care for that matter.
It's all about the ratings. The news networks know that fake news and conspiracy theories sell, at least for a time. That's why they keep repeating the same stories over and over again in spite of zero evidence to back them up.

Actually, after the recent further election losses by Democrats, the networks are starting to realize that the American people are not buying the crap. It's gotten so bad that even some liberals are agreeing that Trump is a real victim of a witch hunt.

How so? America chose Trump on election night, he was the choice of "the people". Are you saying "the people" are wrong or should be "denied" their choice? If we are a country "of the people", then what you say here doesn't sound very "American" or "patriotic" at all I didn't vote Trump, but even i understand this; the election is over and America made it's choice.

Let's be honest; the only reason Hillary had slightly more voters is due to the highly populated/concentrated urban centers that are Liberal, the rest of the map was like 85% red.

I know it's unlikely to happen, but if Trump is somehow "removed" from office i predict a LOT of pissed-off Americans, i don't think it would end well at all. Trump is "their man".

Look, everyone...

"Normal people" just aren't all that concerned with politics unless and until it directly affects them and their families.

Most folks who vote do so and then go on with thier lives. They have careers, families, friends and other things to attract their interest.

So, while this Russiagate scandal looks like it has the potential to blow up, until it does, most Americans will be too busy with their lives to give it a lot of their attention.

Right now, it's just background noise to them. Not a big deal.

But stay tuned.

The smart money says this is gonna be a real pressure cooker.
