You guys who still believe CNN without question, here is another reason to stop watching. They were forced to retract FakeNew and didn't post a retraction until called out on it.
CNN didn't post a retraction until after Buzzfeed & Breitbart made it an issue. And furtermore, they never said it was wrong. Even though it was.
If you want to defend them on this, that is your business, but don't make it about me.
From Buzzfeed:
Quote:
The story did not meet CNN's editorial standards and has been retracted," the editor's note said. It did not say which parts of the story failed to meet the company's standards. The note also apologized to Anthony Scaramucci, a member of Trump's transition team and an adviser to his presidential campaign, who was named in the report.
Maybe CNN could have handled it better, but mistakes happen.
I'll always take CNN over FOX and any other sort of right-wing fake news Russian funded sources.

How does a mistake like this happen? They accused the President of the USA of committing an impeachable offense without checking the story first. They printed it as fact.
Turns out, it never happened. And CNN doesn't say this.

You'll defend anything anti-Trump and not be embarrassed
When CNN deleted the story, it gave readers this message: " Uh-oh ! It could be you, or it could be us, but there's no page here."
They didn't retract the story and apologize to the person they named until after called-out on the deleted story. Besides, nothing is truly 'retracted' on the internet. With cache and multiple other sites quickly picking up the story, the original is still there. In fact, the story's author hasn't even deleted his initial tweet.
So, you attack a news organization that retracts a story it finds suspect.
...
It would be a miracle if all news organizations got everything absolutely 100% correct. That doesn't happen in any other endeavor on earth. In fact, in some organizations if you don't fail now and again, it is a sign you're not trying hard enough stuff.

Not true. What I am defending is not the story, which is apparently not true and been retracted, but CNN itself. News organizations make errors, but the credible ones will issue retractions. I don't like broad-brush attacks on news organizations like CNN because they are integral to the political health of the nation.
