OK. I am just trying to figure out the way you think...

Your socialism definition still doesn't stand. It has double standards...
You still do pay for a lot of things, over which you have no control, and you pay for other as well as yourself.

I wouldn't watch an execution, it's disgusting.

OK. And what about socialism thing? Your definition still doesn't stand.

Clearly, what you are describing is not socialism, BUT selective support for some things, and not for others. This is just an opinion, NOT socialism.

So, you are not anarcho-capitalist?

When will our leaders wake up? When the people consistantly vote them out of office for poor job performance. That is when. As it stands people are voting party lines regardless of encumbants past performance. The parties are consistantly failing to follow through on their promises. And yet we still hear people cry party loyalty.... NO The loyalty should be to their nation, not the party. The presidential race for the past 20 years is a perfect example of whats wrong. I am so sick of hearing about which party cares about the little guy more, or which party is most patriotic. News flash. Neither is. They are loyal to their wallets and power. This happens when people continue to re elect guys like Ted Kennedy or 80 year old republicans. Or when we elect someone because they were once married to a president.
Some have said personal life shouldn't matter. Yes it does because its an indicator of character. If you can't be honest with your own family then its slim to zero that you are honest at all. Charater matters. These politicians represent all of us regardless of who voted for them. If we allow them time and again to do what they do we have lost credibility in the eyes of our peers. Vote the failures out.... They excel at pointing fingers and delivering bad excuses. My measure is what have they achieved? The last 8 years from the top down has been a dismal performance. I would if I could vote them all out. Every one of them. Experience? Well what has all that experience delivered in the last 8 years?

It will require a another Great Depression to wake up our leaders. The Great Depression caught Hoover napping but it woke up Roosevelt.

Again, i think you are selecting bits and pieces you like, and make your own definitions. What you said can be only your opinion, NOT socialism.

I, for one, am against socialism as it is defined.

Clearly - you want the government to take care of you - cradle to the grave.

You want a welfare state -

I want a welfare state, BUT not socialism. These two are DIFFERENT.

UN charter of basic human rights(here it is):
Article 24.
  • Everyone has the right to rest and leisure, including reasonable limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with pay.
Article 25.
  • (1) Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.
    (2) Motherhood and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance. All children, whether born in or out of wedlock, shall enjoy the same social protection.
Read POINT (1) especially-> ... in circumstances BEYOND his control.

You should study a little about the US - we do not follow the section you mentioned in the useless un charter
