Looks like the Denver Police are trying to emulate Capitol Police by arresting disabled people just for practicing first-amendment rights.
Looks like the Denver Police need to be concerned about violent criminals then emotionally abusing the disabled and arresting them for practicing first-amendment rights.
Glad, that the Denver Post has a dramatic picture of unempathetic Denver Sheriff deputies emotionally abusing those in wheelchairs.
The violent crime numbers indicate that Denver has seen about a 10% increase in violent crime rate.
The violent crime rate annualized for Denver if in remains at the current level would be about 688 per 100,000 residents as opposed to the national violent crime rate of 367 per 100,000 residents.
It certainly is interesting though how law enforcement is so quick to file disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct charges because they don't agree with the position of the protesters.

Where do you get the "emotionally abuse" part?
Building management informed the staff that they were in violation and everyone had to leave. Staff had to stay the night twice because of protestors. C'mon, cops had to do their jobs.
It is emotionally abusive to arrest disabled people who are just practicing constitutional rights. Many of these people already isolated from the world and discriminated against, so the Denver Police and Sheriff arrest them and throw in an overcrowded jail.
Many of these people are already socially and physically isolated and the Denver Sheriff's who enforces Mayor Hancock's policies.
This isn't the first time Mayor Hancock's city of Denver has been victimizing the voiceless. His Police Department ordered blankets to be taken from the homeless during a winter cold snap because that would supposedly get them to move to a different city.
If you have a problem with them arresting disabled protestors fine, or if you want to address medicard, fine...can you state your case without "while violent crime rates are blah blah blah" part? I don't see the connection to why the protestors where arrested.

I see he has the right background for public office.
1986 Denver Broncos Super Bowl season, he was the Broncos' mascot "Huddles".

I just think it is interesting how these police say they are so understaffed and that response times are increasing and yet they have massive amounts of police swarm to arrest disabled protesters for using founding fathers 1st amendment rights.
The Denver Police are always complaining about how they are so understaffed and response times are so high. Maybe if they reserved officer hours for real criminals and not bullying the disabled then they wouldn't have a resource issue.
I don't think you understand that the arrest and remaining in jail is part of the protest.
The whole point of what the protesters were doing was to be arrested. If the police never show up and arrest them, the protest fails.
If they don't remain in jail, the protest fails.
We are reading about this and seeing this nationally because the officers did exactly what the protesters wanted.
You might find this shocking, but the vast majority of these types of protests, the protest organizers call up police ahead of time to arrange the arrests. They literally prearrange which protesters will be arrested and when. Odds are the department was very careful to have enough officers on hand and officers with specific training to make sure there were not medical or equipment problems during the arrest.
OP appears to be the target audience for these protesters.
