Thanks abortion. So much for the "population explosion" that terrified the west for how many decades. Meanwhile helpless 3rd world populations have exploded. Import them they say. Sounds like it was the plan all along.

Well, I wouldn't say it that way.

I would assume that ALL reasonable people would want "family planning" using birth control of various sorts...as well as couples who look at their finances and lifestyles to determine how many children they can raise in a sane and loving manner.

Is this a new "conservative" policy now? To get to 500 million and then a billion Americans? What possible reason could you have to want more people in this country?

Well as long as you have two different species of humans, there will always be nations of some sort. You have people who believe in human freedom and then you have people who believe that they are merely cogs in a collective. The two will never have anything in common. And since the collectivists are always trying to enslave everyone, the two sides will always be at war in some shape or form.

I guess the "Crops are rotting in the fields!!" angle is getting stale so the Washington Post and fellow travellers are groping for a new slogan to sell mass immigration.

A smaller population is a bad thing? I don't think so!

How silly, a steep decline in the population is a very good thing. It drives up wages, increases purchasing power, and conserves resources. That is why a good long war killing off a good portion of the working population always leads to a boom. Wars are bad and unecessary, but low birth rates are great for everyone.

Live United States Population Clock 2017 - Polulation of United States Today

today there are more youths turning 18 (13,500 daily), then there are people hitting retirement age of 65 (9,980 daily)

we also grow by 1.5 million immigrants per year most of these working age

so the birth RATE is not really an issue
Birth Rate is births per 1000 people.
Fertility Rate is the number of children we can expect per each woman. Fertility Rate in the USA just hit 1.8.

The replacement Fertility Rate is slightly more than 2. That's because it takes 2 people to have a baby. So 2 babies exactly replaces the population, but you have add in all the variances where people die too soon for one reason or another.

The world population will begin to shrink very soon. There are very few countries with a fertility rate of more than 2.
Japan is already feeling it.
China has created a disaster that isn't here yet. But it's coming. Google up China Demographic Time Bomb.
Russia has gone from 163 million people to about 145. It's getting critical over there.

People will continue to migrate around, but the world population will soon begin to shrink. And it will shrink for a long, long time (IMO).

Funny how some believe they are not a cog and above it all
