Anybody prone to depression and anxiety is a bad fit for the military. Period.
A concerted effort to rewire human beings to praise and adore transgenders will not change the body dysmorphia and related conditions that transgenders suffer from that make them less than optimal choices for military service. Period.
Because the SJWs will never accept that. Rather, they will litigate each case, driving up costs further. And you can bet that some left wing hack parading as a judge will side with the SJWs. So, the cost effective method of avoiding all of these legal battles is to just ban them and have the one legal battle.
I am very socially liberal (in case one had any doubts), but I wouldn't have a big problem with that. Trans people could still serve if they wanted, which is the important point here. They could still transition at some point if they wanted/needed that, but the military just wouldn't be paying for it. Most trans people have to pay for it themselves, so this wouldn't really be out of the norm, anyway, and they would still be given the respect earned through voluntary service. I don't really see the big problem with that.
Again, the military can just eliminate the option to pay for the transition. Why the need to ban them?
this. i believe we shouldn't be paying for their transition surgery. but if they can make it through training just like everyone else and can do their job, i see no reason to ban them.
Then by that logic, how about we stop incurring the expenses of the Dependapotamus's and their brood of crotch nuggets? From healthcare to BAH, military personnel WITH dependents are more expensive than those without.
If they can't, they don't get past boot. If they can, then they should be allowed to serve.

Because we don't pretend like we have the authority to determine what is and isn't "normal", an entirely subjective concept. I don't particularly like social conservatism, as I don't think it's rooted in rational facts, but I don't consider it abnormal, either. Basically, anything that can happen with people is normal in some sense. I think people just confuse the concept of normality with the probability of something happening, meaning that they often see something that is a majority as normal, and a minority as abnormal, but that's very simplistic.
