There is a very big point here. Had the troops known, would they have followed?

For sure they could be ordered under the threat of disciplinary action or that of a gun, but had they known, would they have believed in their leader and followed?

That is a key question that often can't be answered from looking from the outside, just looking at what someone says alone, just reading the reports.

The end.
Is it "the end"?

How much, how far is one going to follow another when they can't understand what they are? When one is wet, cold, hungry, and tired and yet this officer tells you to get up and move, are they going to believe in them, are they going to follow them, or might the response instead be, "Frag you, Lt!"?

Or let's make it less complicated. What kind of motivational speech is the superior going to give when the ship is going on deployment and the sailor doesn't want to leave her new husband behind? Is the motivational speech going to be effective, is the sailor even going to believe the officer?

It's not that simple, despite what people might want to make it.

But once you open this door (allowing them to openly serve as a transgender folk), military is obligated to pay for every treatment comes with it. You can't deny some people choose to go through that transaction while serving in the military. If this is what they choose to do , then they are not compatible with the military.

It is not as simple as you think it is.
Do you understand that there are already military people who identify as trans? You advocate firing them? Why now?

I have no issue with transgender people. I do have an issue with using defense funds to pay for it.

The military spends 84 million on erectile dysfunction drugs vs. 8.4 million for transgender healthcare. I'm sorry but I can't think of one reason to get freaked out about transgender people's healthcare when the cost is 10% of totally unnecessary treatment for erectile dysfunction.

"The implication is that even in the most extreme scenario that we were able to identify … we expect only a 0.13-percent ($8.4 million out of $6.2 billion) increase in health care spending,” Rand's authors concluded.
By contrast, total military spending on erectile dysfunction medicines amounts to $84 million annually, according to an analysis by the Military Times — 10 times the cost of annual transition-related medical care for active duty transgender servicemembers. The military spends $41.6 million annually on Viagra alone, according to the Military Times analysis — roughly five times the estimated spending on transition-related medical care for transgender troops."

Yes. Why would you think it doesn't?

Not that we have had a draft in almost 45 years. The military leadership does not want one again, politicians do not want one again. If we ever get a draft again things will be truly desperate, as in you'll be digging out old Uncle Joe's squirrel gun while saying prayers that you can figure out how to load it. No one will care about anything other than I hope the Earth, let alone my country, can survive this. Getting hormones will be a moot point.
