Heyer’s experience isn’t reflective of the experiences of the overwhelming majority of transgender people; he even admits that he was “misdiagnosed” and was actually suffering with “a dissociative disorder that required talk therapy, not surgery.”
His views about transitioning aren’t rooted in research or medical expertise. The idea that many transgender people experience “transition regrets” has been widely debunked and contradicts the positions of major professional medical organizations, which all view transitioning as an important and beneficial step for people who identify with a gender identity that doesn’t correspond with their biological sex.
It's not a deflection at all. I've made my case here several times. I'm now pointing out the blatant hypocrisy of the left. Which is extremely easy to do.
The Pentagon has made no change yet to its policy on transgender service members, the nation’s highest-ranking military officer said in a letter Thursday, a day after President Trump sent tweets announcing a total ban on such personnel.
“There will be no modifications to the current policy until the President’s direction has been received by the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary has issued implementation guidance,” said Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in the written message to the heads of the military branches, as well as commanders and senior enlisted leaders.
“In the meantime, we will continue to treat all of our personnel with respect,” Dunford wrote in a message first reported by Reuters. “As importantly, given the current fight and the challenges we face, we will all remain focused on accomplishing our assigned missions.”
No Free plastic surgery for anyone (unless it's from combat wounds and only that part of the body) and no viagra. Get rid of the expensive burdens. I am all for that.
It has to be proven medically necessary for it to happen on a military installation. Just like gastric bypass for people who cannot lose weight and have other medical conditions because of it (diabetes, high blood pressure, etc). When I decide to get my tummy tuck and breast lift it will be paid for out of our pockets and also NOT done at an MTF because of the hoops that will be involved and honestly I want a much better trained dr doing that surgery.

They can draw service-related disability benefit after they are medically retired, like everybody else does
Actually some do. I knew there was a link between ED and TBI from our experience (which was accompanied by short term memory loss). Yesterday I learned there was a link between PTSD and ED.
