Geez... can one become any more self consumed?

LOL the rest of the world, at least in the G20, the median and lower workers do FAR better.

Read into why Rent Control was established.

Rent regulation is a system of laws, administered by a court or a public authority, which aim to ensure the quality and affordability of housing and tenancies on the rental market for land. Comprehensive rent regulation is common in Commonwealth and European Union countries, including Canada, Germany, Ireland, Cyprus and Sweden, and also some states in the United States. Generally a system of rent regulation involves:
price controls, limits on the rent that landlord may charge, with rent control and rent stabilization
standards by which a landlord may terminate a tenancy (an equivalent of unfair dismissal from employment in tenancies)
obligations on the landlord or tenant regarding adequate maintenance of the property
a system of oversight and enforcement by an independent regulator and Ombudsman
The classic objective is to limit the price that would result from the market, where an inequality of bargaining power between landlords and tenants produces continually escalating prices without any stable market equilibrium.

"evil and peace cannot go together. Sin and peace can’t go together. That is a fundamental spiritual law"
the only kind of persons in whom God takes pleasure are righteous people. "Greed" does not fit into righteousness"

Fair Wage and Fair Housing Expense (and..Rent Control when necessary to achieve and maintain Fair Housing Expense).

Our systems are well thought out.. if man did not have such greed, envy and resentment against and toward other man, Fairness would not be such a challenged issue. America is in need of "Righteousness"... if it plans to be and maintain being a Democracy and Improving in being such.

They do actually. The only revenue the city receives from the state is their local share of the federal gas tax.
About $630k out of $1b (which the state is required to disburse to them). It is not really by choice. The state just does not give any money to cities in Missouri unless they are required to by a federal grant or law.

Take a look at the cities with the strongest rent control laws .
They are also the cities that have the most unaffordable housing prices .

You also have a lot of people that make very good wages or even are wealthy benefiting from rent control .

In Los Angeles you need to earn $33hr to afford your own apartment so are you saying small businesses should be paying cashiers , fry cooks , etc $33hr ?

that's more than many small business owners make in profit as the owners!

Take a look at profit margins on small businesses and see why they are worried about huge min wage hikes ..

8 weeks, not "years". Most people would not consider 8 weeks "quite some time" (though even 1 day at $10 means that many employers will have to go up and not revert back).

Yes, but to get a referendum on the ballot, you must get qualifying signatures in six of the eight congressional districts. That is not going to happen on a law like this. You might get 1, 2, and 5, maybe 3 and 4 with a ton of money spent getting signatures. But 6, 7, and 8 would be flat out impossible.
