With a strong GOP majority, the state legislature has banned all cities and municipalities from setting their own minimum wage and St Louis will now have to go back to the state minimum wage after raising it. The people who got a raise and are now earning $10 an hour in St Louis will have to taste the smell of freedom again as people get pushed back to $7.70.

St. Louis $10 minimum wage will revert back to $7.70 in August, Greitens announces | Political Fix | stltoday.com

Yes, its just blatantly clear that people who believe the GOP want local minimum wages so they can set their own levels are just pulling the wool over people's eyes. At least you are honest that it is just a talking point not meant to be taken seriously. The real goal is to ban minimum wages completely as you say.

Local jurisdictions should have the right to make such laws, and the state should have no right to interfere.

I'm fine with them being set at the local city, county or township level, just not at the state or federal level.

Means more hours and more people hired.

But liberals will be outraged anyway.

Americans should be paid 3rd World wages. How's $3/day sound? American workers aren't really worth more than that, right? And companies will save so much, they'll hire so many more! That's worth a whole loaf of bread. What more could workers need? This is the kind of forward-thinking policy that will MAGA!
