If anyone would like to sit down for some lengthy reading over the holiday...

The Economist editor John Prideaux spent several weeks talking to Trump supporters to get insight into why so many voters forgive, or ignore, the scandals that have so far plagued the Trump administration.

I read the first and last article but didn't watch the video.

Essentially, most Americans know very little about politics, do not pay attention, and don't even know what each party stands for. They simply go along with the crowd. It's more true for Republicans but Democrats are almost as bad.

Sad because I think it was Thomas Jefferson who said that we needed an informed electorate (something like that) and now we have people voting who have no idea of what they're voting for. They are like sheep who just follow along. People on both sides are just believing whatever anyone tells them and not reading (hmmm, good example right here in this thread) or investigating the issues to think them through and make an informed decision.

Well, if that's the case, then this country is doomed. The people who voted aren't going to figure out what they've done until the worst happens to them. IF they even figure it out then.
