The GOP won't do it, even though they promised and promised and promised to.

Ever wonder why?

They've tried, and tried, and tried, and tried, and tried, and tried, tried, and tried, et about another fifty or so times.

Albert Einstein would call that confirmation of their mishegoss!

They'll git 'er done. The opportunity to end Medicaid is just too much for Republicans to pass on.

No, they've lost their window. Their only hope was to pass something fast, before anyone had time to study it or object. The House mucked it up because the Freedom Caucus wanted such draconian cuts even most Republicans couldn't support it, and the ensuing fight laid the plan out in the open for the public to see in great detail before they could get the POS through.

The public realization that the Republican's overall plan is to gut Medicaid and slash healthcare benefits has been exposed, and they are well and truly ****ed now. I highly doubt the Senate passes anything, and even if they do, it has to then return to the House, where that same group of "let 'em die in the streets" Conservatives, await.

I see a compromise to fix the ACA in the future. It's the only viable path forward for the GOP at the moment. They have nothing else.

It's kind of funny to me that Republicans control every level of government and can't manage to come up with a single workable plan to replace the one they railed against for years. And then, when it's clear they have nothing to offer and can't get anything done, and a few of them try to get Democrats to help them, we see people like yourself calling the left "loony", the same left that actually did manage to pass a healthcare bill without all levels of government under its belt. Incredible stuff.

They haven't got what they want, it remains to be seen if they'll get what we need.

Mitch McConnell made it clear that working with Democrats is ONLY a very last resort. He actually threatened that IF they didn't pass this bill - they would basically be stuck working with Democrats.

The problem is - neither party's base wants compromise.
