The longer this drags on, the worse the GOP looks. EIGHT years they've been vowing to repeal repeal repeal Obamacare, and now they are shown to be incapable of doing ANYTHING.
Doctors provide health care, politicians concoct payment schemes in order to purchase votes.
Repeal along with a complete seperation of govt and health care.
They'll git 'er done. The opportunity to end Medicaid is just too much for Republicans to pass on.
They won't end Medicaid. Look at the stats for Ohio, PA, KY, WV.....lots of Republican voters/trump supporters are ON Medicaid. They didn't realize they got Medicaid expansion BECAUSE of Medicaid expansion under Obama. Now they FEAR losing their coverage. https://www.theatlantic.com/health/a...-trump/517584/

The problem is - neither party's base wants compromise.
Not to mention Congressmen on both sides of the aisle view their job as getting reelected rather than serving the people.

What is there to compromise on? They're not even working toward the same goal.
One side wants people to have access to healthcare. The other wants to cut off access to healthcare and give a huge tax cut to rich people. The only disagreement among Republicans is how big the tax cut should be and how many millions should suffer for it.

They are not even a united party so they cannot agree about anything. The sure were united in their racist hatred of a black President though, now weren't they, from day-1,all they did was spew hate speech especially John Boehner!
Obamacare was a big mistake says New York senator Chuck Schumer. It cost the Democrats dearly in the last election.
Not so fast, says New York Times columnist Paul Krugman. Obamacare may not have been popular on Election Day, but it’s working. “It’s the best thing [Democrats] have done in decades,” he adds.
