What I don't get is what it took this long for Kushner to explain all of this? Maybe it is all innocent as he says but why leave an unanswered story out there for months.

Jared Kushner returned from a closed-door meeting with the Senate Intelligence Committee on Monday to reiterate the message he gave to investigators earlier in the day.

“Let me be very clear,” Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law and top White House adviser, said in a public statement delivered outside the White House shortly after his meeting on Capitol Hill. “I did not collude with Russia nor do I know anyone in the campaign who did so.”

Seems he has given hard to believe statements about four meetings with Russia.

"The thought of summoning people who actually knew what was going on, checking with the administration as to the background of people with whom he was communicating or showing healthy skepticism about the people who were approaching him never occurred to him? Possible, but what a damning alibi."

News reports state that he was NOT under oath during the meeting with the intelligence committees.

They (the intelligence committee Q & A with him) are worthless if he wasn't under oath.

For what its worth considering the source, CNN reported today that lying to Congressional or Federal Investigators is a crime whether or not you are under oath.

He was not under oath but it's still a crime to lie to a congressional committee.

So now witnesses don't have to answer any questions they believe are "inappropriate," and they don't even have to tell the truth.

Well, la dee da.

Pretty sure he was being interviewed by staffers/investigators employed by Congress critters.......not the Intelligence Committee itself.

The Congress critters like to know the answers before they start grandstanding and asking the questions in any sort of hearing whether public or private.

All part of the political theater conducted by both parties.

Protester tried to hand Jared Kushner a Russian flag after his Senate testimony

Quote:
Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., said he will likely have more questions for Kushner, suggesting that Kushner may have a return visit in his future.

"I have questions," Manchin said. "We all have questions."

A few committee Democrats indicated after the meeting on Capitol Hill that they expected to hear more from Kushner.

A genial Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) told reporters that staffers were conducting a “preliminary type of thing” on Monday morning and that they would help set the parameters of the investigation.
