while i agree that this doesn't reach the level of treason you keep overlooking one major point. this isn't simply digging up dirt, the email chain clearly shows a desire by donald jr to collude with russian officials to get that dirt.

Well we've already seen Trump hand members of the Kremlin top secret info from our Intel community, so yeah they're probably celebrating. Who needs spying and counter-intel when Trump will just give them whatever they want.

Digging up dirt is a normal part of politics. Digging up dirt by colluding with Russians who want to help your campaign? A good bit murkier...

the information Trump Jr. initially expressed interest in receiving was not hacked emails or illegally obtained documents but apparently information about Clinton’s official Secretary of State dealings (official and unofficial (authorized by Obama and not authorized)) with Russia.

Trump Jr. did, have full reason to suspect Clinton had crooked dealings with Russia. Bill Clinton had given a $500,000 speech in Russia. Clinton had given her approval in handing of U.S. uranium to Russia, after which her foundation received $2.35 million from the Russian-controlled company.

Clinton campaign chief John Podesta sat on the board of a company that received $35 million from the Russian government alongside fellow board members Anatoly Chubais, a senior Russian official, and Ruben Vardanyan, an oligarch. collusion with the Russians

several foreign countries known for their human rights violations — like Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Brunei, and Algeria — donated millions to the Clinton foundation (pay to play), and yet very few if any democrats will construe this information in a negative way.

so jr is looking for Substantiated (not rumor) information (dirt) of Hillary...their OPPONENT .....again not illegal, not collusion, not treason
Go READ THE EMAIL...

hint: This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government's support for Mr. Trump

Did you ever find the information I asked for back in post #1071?

The host of our local call-in nightly radio program is a Conservative and he says it is not treason but it is definitely questionable behavior and should be investigated. I couldn't believe it but he is very knowledgeable and quite conservative yet even HE thinks this probably crosses the line.

The thick heads of Trump supporters cannot absorb, "hate liberals, hate liberals" gets through easily though.

Whether it is treason or not, it is against the law to get items of value from a foreign nation.

Such as research on your opponent.
