Donald Trump Jr. has made a potentially damaging New York Times report much, much worse.
The Times on Sunday reported that the president's eldest son was promised damaging information about Hillary Clinton before meeting with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer at Trump Tower in New York on June 9, 2016.
As Times reporters Jo Becker, Matt Apuzzo and Adam Goldman explained, Trump Jr.’s motivation for agreeing to the meeting “points to the central question in federal investigations of the Kremlin’s meddling in the presidential election: whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians. The accounts of the meeting represent the first public indication that at least some in the campaign were willing to accept Russian help.”
Trump Jr. confirmed that he went into the meeting expecting to receive information from the Russian lawyer that could hurt Clinton. That is a breathtaking admission.

I don't think this will reach 100 posts. Without any idea of purpose or result of meeting they might as well have met with Putin himself.
If on the other hand Mueller concludes the Trump team hatched a crime, each person at the meeting and the attorney himself may be asked what was discussed.
To which all predictable would say...I don't remember.
If its true that they met because the Russians promised him damaging information about Hillary, then he should probably be taken into custody.

If someone told me that they had damaging info on the person I was running against, I'd listen also.

You can't do oppo research with a foreign enemy in exchange for benefiting them after your candidate wins the election. That's illegal and essentially treason.
And you know darn well if the tables were flipped, and Clinton won and we found out Chelsea did this for her mom, the right would be screaming their heads off and impeachment trials would have already begun.

Problem is -- if the Trump gang had just owned up to all their 'meetings' that are, by their telling, innocent...then all these little meetings that actually happened...wouldn't have 'surfaced'. They would have been addressed months ago and we could have moved on.
I listened to Kellyann Conway this morning on GMA and she basically said -- there was intent, but nothing happened so all is good.
The Trump admin. denied ANY meetings with ANY of their people and the Russians. Then it comes out Kushner, Manafort, Trump Jr, Flynn......all had meetings.
Why didn't they just all release that information months ago if there is nothing there. Why hide it, LIE about it.
This wasn't an --oops -- how can I forget about that meeting.
And -- while folks are digging up information and finding out how many lies are being told, that doesn't stop Trump from 'running' the govt. He's not doing anything but denying. He sends Spicer, Conway and uHuckabee'sm daughter to spin. All he has to do is get his Republican party to become united on the healthcare issue -- that's all.
And it might help if Trump doesn't contradict himself, his administration, etc. with his statements. It is confusing and you start to wonder what is really going on.
I am skeptical about the Russian & Trump connection but all of this makes me wonder what games they are playing and why and to what benefit for them, our country. Don't blame the MSM -- I'm not using that information as my primary source.
Back to work today on healthcare. How bad is it going to hit all of us?
I never believed that the adoption issue enticed Trump Jr, Kushner, and Manafort to a meeting with the Russians. It appears I was right. It was the possibility to collude with the Russians on the US presidential election which brought them to the table. Even if nothing substantive came from this particular meeting, it shows that the Trump campaign was very open and receptive to colluding with Russians that were very well connected to the Kremlin. It certainly makes it more plausible that other meetings with key Russians were held to discuss potential election interference collusion matters.
