You need to ask him why he did it but he did do it.

Let's think this one through.

Kushner could communicate with Russians prior to the election fairly easily. Phone, text, drop by their offices in Trump Tower, ... not a problem.

After the election, it's a problem. Secret Service guys every time you turn around. NSA briefs him on not using his own phone. They might even be monitoring his phone. Who knows?

What Kushner was proposing was not a "back channel," unofficial channel between lower level folks on both sides to facilitate sharing information.

What Kushner was proposing was a secure communications at Russian facility that was hidden from American intelligence.

"the notion that a senior transition team or White House official would either propose—or even be open to discussing—using Russian secure communications channels is, to the say the least, unsettling. It indicates that individuals who occupy senior positions in the White House considered putting into place a system that would give the Russians an intelligence collection advantage by bypassing the U.S. intelligence community."

How to Understand Kushner’s ‘Back-Channel’ - POLITICO Magazine

What he was doing was trying to set up a covert communication channel that was hidden from American intelligence.

There's a name for it, but it's not "back channel."

I'd give Mueller 2 more weeks to bring something forward or I'd fire him. He may have early stage dementia.

What good would that do?

Speaking of Jr.s, it looks as if Flynn Jr. has gotten himself tangled up in the Russian saga.

https://www.gq.com/story/mike-flynn-...n-schreckinger

As you all may recall, Flynn Jr., spread the bogus Pizzagate conspiracy that got him booted from TrumpWorld after some guy took him serious and opened fire with an assault rifle at the DC pizzeria in order to free nonexistent sex slaves.

In addition to spreading bogus conspiracy theories, Flynn Jr. tagged along with Flynn Sr. on trips to Russia and was chief of staff at the Flynn Intel Group.

In any case, Flynn Sr. apparently asked his friend, Lucian Wintrich (White House correspondent for a pro-Trump blog the Gateway Pundit) to contact Ben Schreckinger at GQ to convey that Flynn Jr. was in >>"very close" contact with his father during the campaign and the transition, and thus he can vouch that his father was not engaged in any illicit activities. "There was obviously no shady business." <<

https://www.gq.com/story/mike-flynn-...n-schreckinger

Good to know.

People with dementia or their families find that offensive.

Back to Don Jr.

Seems Don Jr. and Ivanka were involved in a sketchy real estate deal a few years ago.

They sold Trump SoHo project as a “condo-hotel” where instead of a condo, "buyers essentially purchased a hotel room, which, by law, they were not able to occupy for more than 120 nights a year."

Then they "fudged the numbers" about how many had been sold. A two year investigation appeared headed to indictments when "Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. closed the investigation for good shortly after meeting with Trump attorney and one of Vance’s largest campaign contributors, Marc Kasowitz."

The Trumps settled the civil suit with the buyers. The Trump SoHo went into foreclosure. Vance, who is still in office, said he plans to return Kasowitz's money.

ProPublica report: Ivanka Trump and Don Jr. nearly indicted for real estate fraud.

This Vegas shooting has blown the Russian Spy story out of the news. Good thing Mueller doesn't care about that.
