Colbert averaged 3.195 million viewers per episode for the traditional September-May TV season, compared to Fallon’s 3.173. This marked CBS’ first late-night win since the 1994-1995 season, excluding 2009-2010 when NBC replaced Conan O’Brien with Jay Leno midway through the season. “The Late Show” was also the only late-night program to post year-to-year growth in total viewers, up 11% from 2.89 million.>>

So the New York Times had this email chain, and asked Don Jr. for comment before publishing, which is why he released it first to try and get ahead of the NYT, probably not realizing how incriminating the statements in the emails were.

Russia is our competitor. One of our competitors for resources and influence in the world. They certainly were willing to do many things in order to get Trump elected. Even engage in a conspiracy. Your knee-jerk defense isn't rational.

Why wasn't Clapper charged with actual perjury but we expect someone who lies in general to get charged?
Because Clapper wasn't working with a foreign govenrmnet against the U.S.? I dunno - Why don't you educate us?

What else are they going to say? They've spent the last 18 months defending the guy's every word and action and treating him like the second coming of Jesus Christ. It's going to be difficult, if not impossible, to get them to admit they were wrong about him. If Trump and his administration go down for this- and there is no reason to believe at this point that they'll walk away from it just fine- I suspect that most of his supporters will continue to support him and just become bitter in the belief that a good man who was just trying to save the country was destroyed by liberals and a corrupt media conspiracy. They are never going to see Trump for who he really is.

Confession is good for the soul. I'm sure he'll get an extra pillow in his cell or something for being such a good boy and making life easy for the prosecutors.
