If you'd like to make a thread on alcohol and homelessness, go for it.
Or a thread comparing the two, go for it.
Anyone can use the thread starter icin.
I thought the thread was about your concern for homelessness and its causes. You only want to use the homelessness card to bash pot?
Here are the highlights in just three years since legalization:
Marijuana-related traffic deaths increased 48 percent.
Over 20 percent of all traffic deaths were marijuana related compared to only 10 percent six years ago.
Marijuana-related emergency department visits increased 49 percent.
Marijuana-related hospitalizations increased 32 percent.
Marijuana-related calls to the Rocky Mountain Poison Center increased 100 percent.
Diversion of Colorado marijuana to other states increased 37 percent by vehicle and 427 percent by parcels.
Colorado youth now rank number one in the nation for marijuana use and 74 percent higher than the national average.
Colorado college-age group now rank number one in the nation for marijuana use and 62 percent higher than the national average.
Colorado adults now rank number one in the nation for marijuana use and 104 percent higher than the national average.
This whole discussion reeks of exactly went down during the "Prohibition Period" surround alcohol!! A lot of claims and suggesting evidence of etc etc etc. EVENTUALLY lost their NAY Saying rhetoric. Let's face it... when an economy profits... along with regulation... It will not be in the end Scrubbed!!
As far as homelessness... That's been around like for over a Century.. especially after veterans come home from war torn area's and horrendous experiences. Self medicating has been going on like forever. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabis_(drug)
Pot per sa is far less detrimental than Alcohol .. both physically and mentally! ETOH if overly abused kills the LIVER .. and causes brain cell issues. Pot, has no such history physiologically like that. Pot is not a stimulant.. on the contrary.. It has so many health attributes versus Alcohol! The DHC content has been removed mostly for Medical use.. but I have to say, that buying Marijuana from a well regulated source is far safer than from somebody's garage or on the street ( who knows what's been added to it?) !
Alcohol, use to be produced home made in the "Back Woods" somewhere... Many used the term back then
was "moonshine" and God only knows what was it's content!! It's still remains even today!!
BUT, I don't see anybody baulking against making their own ETOH concoction .. even tho the Alcohol Industry is regulated??
Bottom line really is Marijuana has far less physiological detriments than Alcohol..! I don't touch the stuff.. but have seen first hand ( professionally) it's direct affects.. and none of those affected come anywhere near close to what Alcohol does!!
cool story, but the feds would lose and i think Donald and sessions are starting to figure that out.
If you need a reminder, the sanctuary cities are still standing tall and Sessions has avoided talking about it, he even cancelled his trip to one recently because he learned the feds can not defund one department because of the actions of another.
please try to defund transit i want to see sessions and trump getting yet another fine slapping.
My comment had nothing to do with Trump or any other president. Crashes cost billions of dollars and if something that is illegal federally is the cause of an exorbitant amount of money and lives being lost then the Feds could threaten to take the funds. Just like Montana's refusal to post speed limits on highways.
It is hurting some of the business owners there. There welfare.
They have shops, restaraunts that are loosing business. As they have been interviewed that homeless are parked in front of their business' leaving trash, peeing, begging, and smoking dope.
What about these citizens of Colorado, the business owners. Their livelihood.
Seems the are getting the bad end of the stick.
Now Oregon is considering legalizing cocaine, meth and heroin as well. Give them a few years and watch as they send out the SOS for federal help.
Much blame goes to the politicians there for pandering to the hipper than thou mentality of many West coast states.
Really, is This true?
