While it is troubling that it takes shooting white people before anyone cares, maybe something will get done now about all these trigger happy thugs carrying guns we call police.

"thank" the internet. It's been going on for decades but no one knew except minorities who were usually the victims.

Sadly this is true. The harshest punishment a dirty cop ever receives is a long paid vacation and a promotion when they return to work. The taxpayers cover the insurance that pays the cost of the lawsuit and settlement and the cops and their union circle the wagon to get ready for the next "bad apple". The entire system is corrupt from top to bottom. It is ridiculous at this point to say that there are still good cops, if they were good they would not tolerate the systemic abuse, lies and coverrups that are the hallmark of US law enforcement.

Thugs? How do you know the cops were wrong? You have already predetermined the actions of the cops were wrong without having any knowledge of the case.

The cop shot an unarmed woman after he turned his body cam off? He needs to be immediately fired and held while they conduct a murder investigation.

Where did it say he turned it off? I believe they are normally off until turned on.

well at least he didn't open fire like the cops did, they appoint themselves judge, jury and executioner knowing that they face no substantial oversight or scrutiny for their actions

This one looks like it was more the cop's fault than the dog's. And again with the usual crap, the cop thought the suspect was armed, etc. If he hadn't had the dog with him the cop probably would have shot the guy.

^^ This is what needs to be discussed.

Since the officer failed to turn on his bodycam, the only one TRUE fact that we know beyond doubt is that a police officer shot and killed an unarmed woman. We don't know anything other than that, and unfortunately we never will.

So either:

1. The cop was up to no good and purposely didn't turn on his bodycam, which is downright terrifying

or, and more likely,

2. The cop was UNBELIEVABLY irresponsible and simply "forgot" or "in the heat of the moment" didn't get a chance to turn on his body cam.

Minnesota has been in the headlines over the last year as the most criticized and publicized police killing happened in that state. How on earth could an officer in that state be so stupid as to not turn on his body cam?! I would not want somebody that irresponsible on the police force.
