For me, the most stunning thing I've observed is the fact that Republicans had EIGHT YEARS to do come up with their own plan. Nearly 3,000 days of time they could've used to really research the issue, come up with viable ideas and how to pay for their ideas.
And what do we get from the right? Zip, zilch, zero, nada.
So, you think it really matters what they come up with? I doubt anything they come up with will pass this crowd. Looks like we might have a shot at a new healthcare in 2020. Meanwhile, insurance companies are pulling out and leaving towns dry. I guess we will observe and take it from there.

The majority of Americans wisely choose Employer Group Health Insurance.

The 80% mandate was the reason insurers were merging. Mergers cut jobs. You merge over synergies which means I have 2 of each department. I just need 1. I fire 1.
Post ACA, we will no doubt reset to 76% as we were pre ACA. That 4% shift was gonna to come straight out of middle class salary expenses.
All the more reason to go single payer or UHC if that's your angle.
Corporate greed should not cost the lives of anyone.
Wrong. Already in my state, all but 1 hospital chain is in the red. Most were in the black in 2008.
And what makes you think getting rid of the ACA is going to fix that? Consider that most of the health care companies and hospitals are against the new bill. Perhaps there's something they know that you don't.

Never happen, but we have some splendid insurance, and 76% is truly more efficient than most industries are. It leaves just 24% for S, G, & A plus returns to investors. Very efficient industry.

Our EGHI sucks.
Healthcare access should never have been tied to employment status. What a ridiculously stupid idea but one that benefited employees by attracting workers with "fringe benefits" so as not to pay the working class what they are actually worth.

You're right. America will NEVER make the right choice for its people. Sad but true.
But history is a good predictor of future behavior so I'm certain you are correct.

They realize this was ACA light, and they know ACA is toast soon. They no doubt would prefer waiting out ACA's final descent into the ground.

FDR tied them together. Wage & Price Controls. Employers needed bait to get employees.

Whoever did it...really screwed a lot of people over.
