Three centrist Republican senators — Susan Collins (Maine), Shelley Moore Capito (W.Va.) and Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) — all said they would oppose any vote to proceed with an immediate repeal of the law.

“I did not come to Washington to hurt people,” Capito said on Twitter. She added, “I will only vote to proceed to repeal legislation if I am confident there is a replacement plan that addresses my concerns.”

So, what now? How about being productive and working with Democrats to improve the ACA? Are Trump and the other GOP leaders mature enough to do that? I won't hold my breath.

They had seven years to come up with something and now that the have the WH and both houses of congress, they come up with zip, nada, nothing. It's sad that they couldn't even compromise with themselves to get something passed, let alone work and compromise with the evil Democrats.

They'll never work with the Dems and they'll do everything they can to ensure that the fixes that Obama care requires will never see the light of day. Although they now have the power and responsibility to improve our health care, when health care costs rise and access declines they blame the Dems and the conservative base will buy it. They'll never blame the party in power if it happens to be the Republicans...

These people have been complaining about Obamacare for years now. They've tried to repeal it 60 times.

And now Republicans run the government and they can't get it done. Talk about incompetent.

They had two term to come up with something, I would love to say I am disgusted with them but i am pretty immune at this point. I dont expect anything from the mainstream republican party. but failure, they would have elected cruz , lost the elction and 12 staright years of democrat rule and rot

I voted for trump to do something about illegal immigration border security and our displacement , to stop job outsourcing, america first trade deals and foreign policy , and to rebuild our infrastructure and stop the rot. I didnt vote for mainstream republican garbage. This sums up my feelings exactly about mcConnell, ryan, mccain and graham etc

The fixes that obamacare require??? You can't fix stupid.
Health care costs rising is a progressive failure. Why boobus wants government involved in health care after so many examples of quality falling and costs rising is beyond me.

The ones that forced the expensive and inefficient obamacare on the people are the incompetent ones.

Time to get McConnell out of his leadership position. That worthless dog couldn't sell a bill to save his life. Congress is dysfunctional and Trump didn't make good on his promise to repeal Obamacare. Miserable failure of a president. Miserable failure of a congress.

Every nation on Earth that has quality affordable healthcare with national coverage has a government-led healthcare system. As Republicans' repeated failures show, they don't have the answers.

McConnell's repeal-only plan is now dead

What's dead can be raised from the grave. We've seen it. They are called Zombies and vote for socialism. McConnell isn't dead yet and there is no telling what's going to happen or where it will end.

Of course Trump and the Republican Congress won't be willing to do that. They're still under the illusion that they hold power and will see no reason to be at all cooperative with the enemy camp. They will fend off any repair crew that tries to save their sinking ship. Better to go to the bottom, than compromise. We can just hope our ship of state doesn't go down with them.
