He's a scientist. Engineering is a science.

Bill Nye's not exactly my favorite (Neil Tyson is objectively better, I say), but his point is probably more accurate than you're willing to acknowledge. He of course isn't calling for mass killings, but just stating a fact; old people are often quite stubborn and acceptance of climate change does seem to correlate with age. Most young people, including conservatives, believe in climate change. Nye's probably right in saying we will probably have to wait for some people to die before we as a society can stop debate IF climate change is happening and instead debate WHAT we do.

Old people heard in the seventies that we were supposed to be choking on pollution and under water by now. Fool me once.

Truth on climate change is probably somewhere in the middle. It is a factor but not to the extent that they want us to believe. Why don't they call it global warming anymore? Yep.

Most socialist/communists talk a good game about everyone being equal for the common good. But the ruling class who administers it will not apply their own demands to themselves.

Sure nutjobs like Ezekiel Emmanuel might off their own parents now that they are retired, and not producing like a good worker bee for the hive anymore.
Best rest assured that most will make exceptions for themselves and their friends/family, while the brainwashed apparatchiks suffer.
So Nye will remain, as he is too important to suffer the fate.

SPECIAL NOTE - Nye is likely not saying old people must be eliminated. Instead, he recognizes that the younger generations are brainwashed from grade school through college about man made global warming. They are more naive and will be a much easier group to pull the wool over their eyes.

What I was getting at was his degree. He has his degree in mechanical engineering. Keyword, mechanical.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mechanical_engineering

I fail to see how a degree in mechanical engineering has any impact on economic, social, and social justice issues.

Nice try, though.

You are correct.

Here's one of their previous "leaders" discussing this topic:

You and Bill are 100% incorrect!. In fact, according to the attached Pew Research poll, people aged 50-64 care more about the environment than the 18-29 demographic by a good margin. In addition, the 18-29 demographic care about the environment only marginally more than the "old fogeys" that Nye and you think needs to die sooner rather than later.

My god are liberals obtuse!

Is your degree in political science? Because if not, leave the damn the forum permanently, lest be a hypocrite?

Or is this argument reserved for those you disagree with and has nothing to do with principles (note, I'm fairly certain I already know the answer)?

This is an issue of scientific literacy.

When I was growing up, Pluto was considered a planet. At some point, they changed it. I didn't say "**** it, science can't make up it's mind to it's all bull****." The reason: I understand science. And that's it.
