One version of the GOP health bill now under consideration promises lower premiums for consumers. To get there, that version of the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA) bill would require patients in standard plans to spend as much as about $13,000 upfront on their own care.
GOP Health Bill's $13,000 Deductibles Would Be Illegal, CBO Says

Is the GOP leadership just crackers these days?

GOP thinks everyone is making $250K and higher...

I mean.. most Americans have trouble saving $1k as an emergency fund, let alone save $13K...

I don't think the GOP believes everyone is making 250k a year, but they only care about the people that do. If you are too poor to afford a 13k deductible, you might as well be a speck of dust to a Republican.

So CBO finds that premiums will go up 20% or more over what they would under Obamacare in the first year alone, deductibles will more than double, and 22 million people will be without insurance coverage. This is Trump's idea of a really great replacement?

I honestly don't think they are the "rich people party". They just sound like they're brainwashed into their own world where everyone makes 250K or more but forgot about reality.

If I were king, those that tow the medical line, would get back 1/3 of their OOP HC expense for that year. Tax credits/rebates/subsidies, whatever. This is about the effective central support subsidy with Medicare, and one large reason Medicare works so well for so many people.

Do you honestly think that Republicans believe the people that mow their lawns, wash their cars and serve their food are making 250k a year?

This needs to be broadcasted day and night by the MSM to the whole US audience to indicate how utterly useless and stupid the GOP really is. The fact that they want to shove this down the country's throat is guarantee that they have no clue, even after 7 years of bitching and whining about ACA, how to come up with a decent plan. To have the orange idiot with a pen just waiting to sign this awful bill is also a telling sign of how evil and uncaring this so called president is.

The US is in an awful mess these days with monkeys and d*&^chbags running the government.

It is not about the Republicans not caring directly. Republicans favor smaller government. They do not believe that the government should have any role, or only a very limited one, in health care delivery. But if you take government assistance out of the equation, the result is that only the rich will be able to afford it. That does not bother them because the principle of limited government matters more than public welfare.
