I would have jumped into the lake and I would have done it even when I was 16 and stoned.

These jerks have no respect for human life nor do they have compassion for someone who was suffering.

They are Post-Millennials. If people thought the Millennials were going bad, they haven't seen anything yet. Maybe this bunch will run for congress later?

Obviously you want to punish them or have some type of consequences for letting someone die, but strictly looking at it logically, I don't necessarily think it should be law.

If you say it should be a crime to not help someone, where does that logic end? If someone else is putting themselves in danger, jumping in a lake, running into traffic, driving drunk, taking too many drugs...you're mandated to step in and punished as a criminal if you don't? I see some major red flags there.

I think it's an interesting and important conversation either way.

You can't legislate human decency, may Karma be more successful with these losers.

The police want to charge them with a misdemeanor for not reporting a death. That's better than nothing, I guess.

Any half-assed legal aid attorney would get them off in a flash claiming they had no way of determining the man was dead.

Except they mentioned he's dead in their video.

I think the attorney will blame their age, immaturity, and the fact that they were high. It was the drugs causing them to laugh, not what was happening to the poor man.

See, you can blame drugs to get off the hook, but if you blame drugs for bad behavior, you've got a problem.

Then again, a misdemeanor isn't really that big of a deal. The attorney may tell them to plead guilty and get on with their lives.

I'm not sticking up for these losers. More than likely these idiots would have drowned too since they probably can't swim either.

Are you really surprised they didn't call the cops? Listen to them. I'm going out on a limb and say they already have a history with the local PD. THAT'S why they didn't call 911 or call it in later.
