The point is that Russia may be helping the Taliban, not the "quality" of the product, which you seem to be fixating on.

And our own Generals in the field are not so skeptical. But we will take your word for it over theirs.

It does seem obvious that trump supporters would not like this if it were true.

It does not matter if the weapons are even older than what the Taliban is using, the point is that Russia may be helping the Taliban against US forces and our military leadership believes it may be true also.

I'm sure you know more than the actual generals in the field though!

Are they of Russian make? Possibly. The Chinese are good at ripping off kalashnikovs... Russia sold Iran arms back when we were at odds with them...

Russia sold arms to the Vietnamese too...

In every warring country you can find Soviet bloc firearms. RPK RPD AKM (be it a 47 a 74 or Draco pistol) SKS etc...
