Adverse selection. Live in cheap GOP areas when healthy. Move to Dem areas with health insurance when sick.

Haha I can only imagine Chicago running a health care scheme like they do its public school system. The left would finally get its wish of seeing people dying in the streets, except they'd be the ones to blame.

Except there would need to be residency requirements so that would not happen. Why should Dems pay for sick Republicans? They shouldn't. Have a five year residency requirement to qualify for participation.

First, this is a lie. There are hundreds of thousands of mid to small town Mayors. No way 86% of all Mayors would want single payer.

What do Massachusetts residents pay for that?

Only if you have ID cards and only let people who live in the area use it. If you let in every illegal and let all use it they are DOA

Mid to small town mayors really aren't the question here. This is about urban areas approaching health coverage without having to deal with small rural towns that have made it clear they don't want it. This is about choosing not to be held back by rural areas anymore.
