Who's fault is that? Oh yah, Trumps. Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III got on the Trump bus just to be thrown under it like everyone else Trump deals with... except Putin. Make America Fake Again.

In an interview with the New York Times published Wednesday evening, Trump said that he would not have appointed Sessions as attorney general if he knew Sessions would recuse himself from the Russia investigation. Trump also criticized the former Alabama senator’s answers at his confirmation hearing, which some Senate Democrats have said could amount to perjury.

Nothing is ever Trump's fault! How dare you? Our Dear Leader has already proclaimed that when it suits him, he "won't own it."

Can somebody with more knowledge about this than me answer this question: Would replacing Sessions mean that the new AG would have jurisdiction over the Russia investigation, cutting Mueller out of the process?

Mueller has the job until he doesn't.

He'd have to be fired by an AG to not have it. At this point, doing so would only further fuel the flames.

What the Lord of Squids said - right now AG Sessions has recused himself, so any firing of SP Mueller falls to assistant AG Rothstein. If Emperor Trump sacks AG Sessions, a newly confirmed AG would be able to fire SP Mueller directly.

And yes, axing Comey, Sessions, and Mueller - all within six months of each other - would stink to high heaven. But House Republicans would probably issue clothespins for their noses.
