No one is denying anyone's right to protest - it's just WHEN and WHERE they protest - and who's paying to watch this fiasco when what they're paying to watch is football, not politics.
No one ever played football during the anthem. Teams have always either been in the locker room or the sidelines during the ceremony.

Nearly the ENTIRE Dallas Cowboys team defied Jerry, doing exactly what he warned players not to. And Jerry Jones did absolutely NOTHING about it. He backed down.
It's not about Trump and making it so only distracts from what the problem is.
Before Trump made the comment, there were only a handful of players doing it, and after his comment there were hundreds. The ones who did it first time on Sunday did it to display unity against Trumps divisive attack against the original protesters.
I didn't know you could "fire" a volunteer. So no, he's not out of a job. Which seems to be what a couple of you think.
Tell you what will happen, since volunteer departments generally elect their officers every year or two years. He'll remain a member of the department, likely remain on the board of directors.
But they knelt before the Anthem. So, again, he injected politics into my relaxation, and entertainment time. No, not going to watch. He can stand on his head, and spit wooden nickels before, after, or during the game, and I won't care, because I won't watch the NFL.
These guys are clueless about the real problems in Black society, or they just don't want to address them.
He doesn't want to stick around and be criticized for being an SJW.
